This is 3 stages/5 races into the 7 day stage/10 race Le Bon Doc Tour. As you can see we will probably have a great race for the overall between Conrad and Will. The prize being their team color on the winner’s jerseys. Just my luck, I’m not sure either one of them are on a team. This should come as a real heads up to the teams out there, both of these guys are great young riders.
Anyone still interested in getting in on the stage race, there are still 5 races left and you need a minimum of 5 races to get in on the helmet drawings. Helmets provided so far by Bruce Grell/Healthy Habits, Jason Weldon/Scheels, Bike Tech, Two Bee Racing, and all permits were paid for by a generous donation from Ian Robinson of Edward Jones Financial Group.
This is turning into an exciting event and it looks as though the weather will cooperate for the rest of the week. The Tour doesn’t end for another week, so come out and ride.

Roc Doc remaining stages

Here is the remaining schedule for Le Bon Doc Tour 7 Day Stage Race. All proceeds will go to provide a Build A Bear Party for the pediatric cancer patients at the Children’s Hospital in Iowa City. This is for children who are currently receiving treatment or have undergone treatment in the past year. 100 children have received invitations for the August 12 party.

Riders are more than welcome to race individual stages. All races cost $13 if you hold an USCF license. $23 if you need to purchase a one day.

Area bike shops have donated helmets to be used in a raffle. There will also be jerseys for category winners. You must race in at least 5 events to qualify for these raffles.

Those who attended last years party will attest to the fact that this is a great cause. The kids had ear to ear smiles and hopefully were able to forget their troubles for a short while.
It certainly made me appreciate the fact I have 4 healthy kids.

One might question whether anyone can challenge Sean Walker in the Cat 1-2 or whether any category will be bigger than the Cat 4 to produce the overall winner but my big question is can this area successfully support a 7 day stage race?

Remember this is 7 days, 10 races. You need to be in 5 “races” to be considered a stage race finisher.
Double race stages are Tuesday, Wed., and Saturday. No stages will be longer than 15 miles during the week.
Single day stage racers are welcome but only stage race finishers are eligible for the helmet drawings or category winner jerseys.

Here are the directions to Stage 1 20k TT.
Take Hwy 1 north at exit #346 off I80. Go approx. 3.5 miles and look for the Morse sign on your right. You will be turning into a grass lot about 25 yds north of the Morse Rd. on the left (west) side of hwy 1.
There will be a race registration sign and two large orange cones to help you spot it.

All events are $13 except for Tuesday at the Oval $15. Points for the stage race will be 5 points for starting, 1 point for everyone you beat in your category, cats will be combined as needed.
